Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for March 31.

Nowra: Race 7 @ 5.10pm

FRANQUARE (10) came with a mighty burst to win her maiden over 1100m at this track first up. Went to Kembla over 1200m last start and although never on the track kept chasing hard to be beaten under a length. Drawn well and should relish the 1400m. FISCAL POLICY (6) returned from a 30-week spell with a comprehensive win at Queanbeyan over 1460m. Lightly raced veteran who has drawn well and could easily go 2/2 this prep. WATCH THE CAT (3) has not appeared since finishing 3rd over 1800m at Hawkesbury on 9 December. This looks a nice trip for him first up. The consistent SACRED SON (8) is a must for the exotics. SELECTIONS: #10 Franquare has come back in great order and looks a nice bet to close the card.

Armidale: Race 2 @ 2:20pm

BUS TICKET (2) brings a string of placings and just missed as favourite at Grafton the latest. Rates to win and races as if the 1400m will suit. Just needs a good ride. LOVING HEART (14) peaks now and keeps improving. Was wide the latest and gets the chance to break through. ECSTATICALLY (11) will cross over to the pointy end and the well-bred mare got closer the latest. Expect her to be in the finish. INDISPUTABLE (4) impressed at Walcha two back and had excuses after at Coffs. He’s also well-bred and is a chance. SELECTIONS: Keen on # 2 Bus Ticket.

Penola: Race 7 @ 4:55pm (AEDT)

TAHNEE TIARA (4) brings terrific city form and missed a lip at the Valley two back. Will get all the favours in the run and will take a stack of beating at the weights. KEDNELLY (10) is back up to a more suitable distance. Was just nudged out in Open grade three back at Warrnambool and that would have him right in the finish. PASS THE GLASS (5) will use the rail and improved his figures again at Morphettville. Gets some gear tweaks and can make the finish. FLOW METER (3) has won the last two and should manage the longer trip. ZEBRINA (2) also deserves consideration. SELECTIONS: Keen on #4 Tahnee Tiara.

Sunshine Coast: Race 7 @ 5.17pm (AEDT)

CURRUMBIN CRAFT (3) is working towards another win. Settled near the tail of a small field last time out over 1350m at Doomben before letting down nicely to get up for 2nd. Both his wins have come at today's trip and he looks ready to peak now. KING DINISTY (2) made it four minor placings from as many runs this prep when he led but just failed to hang on last start over 1615m at Doomben. Yet to miss a place in five runs at this distance and if he controls things in front today he will take a power of catching. BEAT THE BEAST (4) worked home well last Sunday without threatening over 1200m at this track. Drawn to advantage and looks ready for this distance now. CRUZE (1) strips fitter today and is not without some hope. SELECTIONS: #3 Currumbin Craft profiles perfectly for this.

Devonport: Race 9 @ 5.21pm

IT'S A BATTLE (1) raced up on the pace and fought on strongly to hold 3rd last start over 2150m at Launceston. Yet to miss a place in three runs at this trip and with a sharp drop in grade today he looks perfectly placed to score. MONMOUTH (4) showed pace but tired in an open class 2600m race at Launceston last time out. Far better placed today and should take some running down. GEEGEES LILLYBET (8) travelled midfield and never threatened over 2150m at Launceston recently. Was beaten a whisker over this course and distance earlier in the prep so has claims if she can recapture that form. UNCOVERED (11) next best. SELECTIONS: #1 It's A Battle looks the best bet on the card.

Albany: Race 6 @ 7:25pm

NOTTA MOCHA (3) will race handy and won comfortably here the latest coming off stronger races. Only has to repeat that to win this. GAUGED (1) is racing well and was just nudged out the latest. Needs a good ride but looks a quinella hope. CANNA LILY (2) was wide last time following the strong win here in a 64. Is a chance with a return to that racing handy over shorter. ITS NOT TRADING (5) runs along and will find this easier than Ascot. Will be in it for a long way up to the mile. SELECTIONS: Keen on #3 Notta Mocha.
