Today’s Horse Racing Tips – April 11

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 11.

Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Wyong, Kyneton, Pakenham, Gatton & Bunbury.

Wyong: Race 5 @ 3:15pm

Shark Alley will go forward in a race lacking genuine early pressure. ELABORATE (4) had a two-month break between runs so did a great job to close well and finish runner-up over 1300m at Goulburn last start. Fitter now and will appreciate getting out over more ground. PEACE OF MIND (8) opened her account last start with a dominant win at Goulburn over 1500m. Progressive filly who can improve further at just her third run back from a spell. LOVESEAT (5) was very tough when she scored narrowly over the mile at Kembla two runs ago. Not much went right at Hawkesbury last time in a run worth overlooking. Big chance in this more suitable race. PLAGIARIST (2) will be better for the run but cannot be left out of exotics calculations. SELECTIONS: Back #4 Elaborate who is ready to peak now.

Gatton:Race 1 @ 1:10 pm

Pundit, The Hooligan and Arrow Express all possess terrific gate speed so this will be run at a sizzling tempo. ARROW EXPRESS (8) led all the way and won as she liked last start over this course and distance. Drawn well and nicely weighted after the claim so can repeat the dose. FIONNLAGH (2) tired late at the end of 1000m at Warwick last time out. Chased Arrow Express home here at this trip the start before and might fulfil the same role today. GLOBAL FACTOR (9) has filled minor placings at all three runs this prep. Won over this course an distance last prep and will be cherry-ripe for this assignment. THE HOOLIGAN (4) is sure to run well while fresh. SELECTIONS: #8 Arrow Express to win with a high degree of confidence.

Kyneton: Race 3 @ 2:30pm

Makfly will be prominent from the jump. MAKFLY (5) is fast and just missed at Sandown fourth-up from the front. Is suited around this circuit and clearly rates to win. EROE (1) was much better placing at Bairnsdale despite being caught deep. Gets a low gate today and looks a genuine chance. MEAN MISTER (2) missed a nose second-up at Donald coming from the back. He will be better for it and can make the finish with a good ride. Expect improvement from PEQUINE COLINA (9) from the sharp yard with Meech up. SELECTIONS: Keen on #5 Makfly.

Bunbury: Race 4 @ 5:12pm

The Divine Wind can lead from the low gate. CINNAMON RUN (7) has been good both runs back and keeps improving. He races handy and gets his chance with the key booking of Pike. VENGEANCE OF WAR (8) will have to push forward from the wide gate and also presents third-up. Gets the blinkers first time and looks some danger back a bit in trip. Note however, Pike gets off. THE DIVINE WIND (1) will run along from the low gate and expect the shorter trip to suit. He can fill a spot. TESTA DE LAGO (2) resumes bringing good form and has been well-trialled. One to keep a close eye on. SELECTIONS Looks a nice race for #7 Cinnamon Run.

Pakenham: Race 7 @ 9:00pm

ANALYTICA (2) was a debut winner as favourite then last start was slowly away but came home hard to finish the third. The mile suits now and expected to go close. PURE EXCELERATION (5) has been racing well including a last start win. Peaks now and in the mix again. AKAMON (1) placed when resuming and can only be fitter for the extra furlong. MAIGRET (11) was also placed fresh and among the main hopes. SELECTIONS: Analytica should have too much for these.
