Today’s Horse Racing Tips – April 26

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 26.

Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Port Macquarie, Cranbourne, Werribee, Rockhampton & Canberra.

Canberra: Race 8 @ 4:55pm

Pinetti may be the one to lead. TRIBBIANI (8) ran a well-backed favourite and won the Maiden third-up coming to the mile. He will be better for that and looks capable of repeating for the Matt Dale yard. FUTURE TIME (3) also won the Maiden third-up and did it by a space. Needs a good ride but also looks capable of going on. PINETTI (4) ran a peak winning this trip at Moruya and is a speedy galloper and drawn low gets the chance to repeat with the form hoop sticking. ETHANICITY (2) and PAHRULI (9) also deserve consideration. SELECTIONS: #8 is in good hands and can go on with it now.

Port Macquarie: Race 5 @ 2:40pm

Golden Comet and Lobban Hood to go forward. PATRIOT (1) struggled to keep up in the early stages but once he balanced up in the straight he flashed home to grab 2nd over 1015m at Grafton last start. Looking for this trip third up from a spell and R Thompson back aboard does no harm to his chances - he has two wins from two rides on this gelding. GOLDEN COMET (2) couldn't quicken in heavy going at Wyong last time out and missed a place. Likes this circuit and is far more at home in the better going. The last 100m is his biggest query. LOBBAN HOOD (5) lines up for the hat trick after overcoming a wide run to score at Grafton recently over 1106m. Looks thrown in on 51kgs after the claim. CASCATA ROSSA (3) next best. SELECTIONS #1 Patriot will run a strong six furlongs and prove too good for this lineup.

Werribee: Race 5 @ 3:30pm

Expect Thunderbolt Two while fresh to lead from Wheneim. Very hard to go past BURNING THE CLOCK (6) who led until the shadow of the post first up over 1200m at Gawler. Won a subsequent trial at Morphettville by panels and back to this trip should be going one better. INVINCIBLE KING (1) resumed from a four-month spell last start and did a good job to charge home and miss a win by a whisker over this distance at Cranbourne. Consistent gelding who has come back in good shape and will be hard to hold out. HOWYALIKEMENOW (8) showed ability in the three runs of his maiden prep and a forward showing off a 19-week break is on the cards. THUNDERBOLT TWO (9) resumes following a gelding operation. Respect any market support. SELECTIONS: #6 Burning The Clock is ready to win.

Cranbourne: Race 5 @ 8:00pm

AVVY OAK (2) is a promising galloper who lifted to score a determined win last time. In form and fitter again. Can go on with it. PLAY THAT SONG (7) has been thereabouts in two runs back but has won third up and extra trip a big plus now. Ready to show best. CEDAR GRANDE (4) is an each way hope on latest effort. Placed only try here and placed both tries at trip. HARDERN (1) fought on last time and fitter again. Extra trip suits. Big chance again. MOSHWAY (6) as the inside and small field suits. Will give a sight. SELECTIONS: Stick with Savvy Oak.
