Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on May 2.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Wagga, Wyong, Warrnambool, Kilcoy & Albany.
Warrnambool: Race 9 @ 3:55pm
Lots of improving stayers in the race this year but impossible to go past FURRION (1). Worked to the line strongly in the Easter Cup last time at Caulfield and should be at peak for this. Can go one better. SHEEZDASHING (4) has only one career win to name but is rarely out of stakes class. Ran on strongly in Group 3 latest and looks tough to stop here. DIVANATION (14) is an emerging stayer who wound up strongly to just miss latest. Has a nice weight and will keep coming. SOPRESSA (3) hasn't hit the frame in four runs this campaign but is going better than form suggests. Rates highly and can do much better. LIGHT THE WAVES (12) is a promising stayer in top form. Much harder here but with a light weight can sneak into the finish. SELECTIONS: Keen on Furrion.

Wagga: Race 2 @ 12:55 pm
Plenty of on-pacers with no obvious leader - perhaps Timandjack will take it up. PRIMITIVO (5) caught the eye when resuming over 1400m at Warwick Farm last start, making up a few lengths in the closing stages to finish 2.3 lengths adrift in 6th. Has a few gear changes today and will be more effective over the extra furlong. PARLIAMENT (4) has returned in good order this prep since coming from NZ, winning first up then just missing in a driving finish over this course and distance last time out. Only needs a pinch of luck from the awkward gate to be a major player. ZARVALANTE (8) was held up on a couple of occasions before storming home to just miss recently over the mile here. Has been close at his last three and deserves another win. Last start winner QUIET LUCKY (6) is in the mix but the outside gate hurts. SELECTIONS #5 Primitivo brings the city form here and is the one to beat.
Kilcoy: Race 5 @ 3:03pm
Lots Of Promise a likely leader. MIKURO (2) was slow off but still delivered a comfortable Maiden win at Ballina at her third run back. Gets a 3kg claim today and in this line-up clearly rates to repeat drawn from the handy gate. REGNANT (6) wasn’t far away first-up and has more to give. Stalks from the low draw and is a chance. ROCKY GAMBLE (10) will be better second-up and also deserves consideration. LORD OF THE DREAMZ (1) draws low and has to be kept safe resuming. SELECTIONS: Keen on the Kris Lees filly #2 Mikuro.
Wyong: Race 7 @ 4:00pm
Quick Nick and Sniponet both fly along so this will be a keenly run sprint. SNIPONET (3) led but was swamped right on the line last start over 1200m at Newcastle. Third-up today and better suited on this tight circuit - will certainly take plenty of catching this time. MIGHTY MARMALADE (5) has had a long prep without winning, but went very close last time when she flashed home at the end of 1100m at Hawkesbury. Races best here and deserves a breakthrough. QUICK NICK (4) has been freshened up since a couple of unplaced runs on wet tracks in March. Gets in with his lightest weight for a while and will be hard to stop. Respect topweight STONE COLD (1) back at the provincials. SELECTIONS: #3 Sniponet to lead all the way.
