Gunnedah: Race 4 @ 2.50pm
A cracking tempo headed by Jazzee Nicc and Folkstone. JAZZEE NICC (4) ended a frustrating run of minor placings with a tough all-the-way win over this distance at Tamworth last start. Meets a better lineup today but gets a couple of kilos off and is sure to take some catching. FIERY EMINENCE (8) was beaten 2.9 lengths by Jazzee Nicc at Tamworth after racing wide without cover. Again drawn poorly but with a bit more luck this time has the ability to be in the finish. LARLABROOK (2) has not appeared since finishing last of eight over 1100m at Gilgandra in open company back on 6 January. Placed first up over this distance at Randwick this time last year - can win if he finds that sort of form. SISTER JOY (6) didn't have much luck last start and is a trifecta chance at her pet distance. SELECTIONS: #4 Jazzee Nicc to do it again with the confidence high.
Aargh The Serenity will cross to set a solid pace. JULIANNE'S WISH (9) closed well despite racing wide for the entire trip to clock-in 4th over 1115m here last time out. That was her first run for 18 weeks so will strip a lot fitter this time. Clear top pick. BE WATCHFUL (4) has claims first up from a five-month spell for a new stable. Ran a cracking race to kick off last prep so comes to hand quickly. TYCOON ANNA (3) for the exotics. Had excuses first up and did look smart at her only other run last prep. Hard to enthuse over the others. SELECTIONS: #9 Julianne's Wish clearly to one to beat.
Ipswich: Race 3 @ 2.15pm
Small field with little pressure. FEARLESS QUEEN (9) improved sharply last start when second up from a spell, racing up on the speed and boxing on well for 2nd over 1050m at Toowoomba. Very fit now and will be hard to hold out over the longer trip. EVENING (8) led but couldn't hang on over this course and distance most recently when resuming from an eight-week break. Still a maiden after 31 runs so hard to get too enthused, but throw her in the exotics. HEAVENLY JOURNEY (2) first up is worth considering with a host of gear changes. Gets all the favours from the inside gate.SELECTIONS: #9 Fearless Queen is ready to win.
