Today’s Horse Racing Tips – May 7

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on May 7.

Two TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Newcastle & Mornington.

Newcastle: Race 1 @ 12:30pm

De Valera should have no bother finding the lead. REGENT STREET (4) was in the market on debut last start over this trip at Randwick and after giving up an early lead fought back to miss by a whisker. Promising colt who only needs to hold that form to break the maiden status today. DE VALERA (1) found the lead before the corner and looked a chance until his condition gave out when resuming over this track and distance recently. Fitter and not out of the equation. STATUESQUELY (8) is trialling well for Waterhouse/Bott and is the best of the debutantes. NOBODY'S PERFECT (2) went well first up and has minor claims. SELECTIONS: #4 Regent Street to get favourite punters off to a winning start.

Mornington: Race 5 @ 2:30pm

Des Moines looks the one most likely to lead. DES MOINES (4) brought strong form to the resumption and did a good job placing after being caught wide. Wasn’t beaten far at G3 level three back and fitter the filly is the one they have to beat. STRATEGIC REBEL (10) just missed here on debut hitting the line well. Gets a low gate today and can be right in the finish with further improvement. PINYIN (8) is an improver who missed a nose at Sale before the spell. He’s had two trials and is a live hope at best. YULONG SPACE (11) debuts for Team Snowden off a trial. She also draws well and is bred to be good and fast. Keep very safe. SELECTIONS Keen on # 4 Des Moines.
