Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 20.

Wellington: Race 9 @ 4.40 pm

Farstar will burn over from a wide gate to lead at a cracking pace. SIPHARDERSON (5) returned from a 124-day spell with a flashing light on last start, charging home late and just missing out over 1000m at Dubbo. Gets the gun run out of the inside alley and over a further 100m today he looks ready to win. ATTILIUS (4) was also runner-up when resuming from a spell last start, his effort coming at Grenfell picnics over 1000m. Can mix it on the TAB-circuit and with the claim he looks a definite chance. ATUM (1) was a shade disappointing at Nowra recently over this distance but is back in grade today so is a likely improver. BILLY BENT EAR (8) is always good value for the exotics. SELECTIONS: #5 Sipharderson looks great value in the last.

Mornington: Race 4 @ 2.30pm

Good early battle for the lead between Steel Choice and Irish Lilt. ROCK TYCOON (3) is poised to break through first up from a nine-month spell. Opened last prep with a desperately close 2nd over 1200m at Cranbourne. Presents as a gelding now so expect to see a more committed racehorse this time around. IRISH LILT (9) led but struggled to keep going in heavy going last start over this trip at Cranbourne. Very fit filly who will give a great sight in better ground this time. STEEL CHOICE (4) went to the lead a long way out and was collared late over this distance at Bairnsdale recently. Drawn ideally and ready to peak third up. First starter REMASTERED (2) is trialling well - any market support should be heeded. SELECTIONS: #4 Happy to take the short odds about #3 Rock Tycoon.
