First out and first home, Fun Fact led throughout to give his opponents no excuses in his maiden stakes success and fifth career win. He led with a circuit to run, clear by two lengths at the 1600m, increased the lead to four lengths at the 1200m and by six at the 800m. Rider Michael Cahill cuddled him up rounding into the straight then asked for more at the 300m and the damage was done and although tiring, he still had a length to spare at the line. Angel Of Heaven sat fourth at the 1000m, hugged the rail rounding into the straight and kept on doggedly along the inner to lunge into second just short of the post. Home Made was second turning in and looked to hold second but was outgunned late. Trusty Lad finished well from midfield to land fourth with the first four clear of the rest.
