Today’s Horse Racing Tips – June 10

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 10.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 4 @ 2.35pm

NOVEMBER MAN (2) was a sectional star two back, before justifying his heavy market support last start when far too good at Randwick over 1000m. Returned a new career peak on that occasion and only looks to have to repeat that level of performance to win again. Clearly the one to beat. CELER (5) did a good job to score at Gosford last start and has to be respected from the favourable draw. ACCELERATO (9) disappointed first up, but is better than that and remains under strong notice second up. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #2 November Man.

Ballina: Race 4 @ 1.43pm

Very little pace on paper following the scratching of Westrock. MALEKO (5) was always worse than midfield and didn't run on last start in a Class 2 over 1400m at Lismore when second up from a spell. Back to a Class 1 today and his only win came third up over this trip so expect sharp improvement today. GENOA (4) was there until straightening but couldn't go on last time out over 1400m at the Gold Coast. Races well here and looks ready for the step up in distance after three runs back from a spell. RUBY RED SLIPPERS (8) dropped out badly last start over this trip in an out-of-character performance. One for the exotics. BAY SHOT (11) caught the eye at the end over 1400m at Lismore last time. Each-way chance. SELECTIONS: #5 Maleko to bounce back and win.

Balaklava: Race 3 @ 2.25pm (AEST)

Just a modest tempo with no stand-out leader engaged. FRANCE'S BOY (5) romped home two starts back over this distance at Murray Bridge then got a long way back at Morphettville Parks last time over the same trip but attacked the line gamely to get up for 3rd. Looks very hard to toss with the light weight. CAPTAIN DUFFY (1) is a black-type winner first up for a new stable. Trialling well so although he hasn't raced for 13 months he has the class to test these. ADATTO (3) generally needs a run to strike some form but a recent trial win suggests he is forward enough to play a role at his first outing since 1 December. Hard to enthuse over the other two starters. SELECTIONS: Very happy to be with #5 France's Boy.

Cairns: Race 7 @ 3.17pm

Aggarwal or Tecza from the wide gate to lead. AGGARWAL (1) took a sit then was a little too good when resuming over 1000m at Townsville last start. That was his first run since transferring from NSW. Has settled in well and should be too good again as he steps up in trip. CANDY GIRL (6) settled well back but came with a powerful last furlong to get up for 3rd over 1200m at Townsville recently. Not a prolific winner but will be getting home strongly again. TECZA (3) was there to challenge but didn't finish off as hoped last time out in the same race as Candy Girl at Townsville. Expect a better run today with Robert Thompson taking over from the apprentice. Last start winner TAPTHETILL (4) must go in the multis. SELECTIONS: Strong push for #1 Aggarwal.

Mornington: Race 7 @ 3.20pm

Hard to know where to look here with any number of potential leaders. EXPLICITLY (2) backs up five days after a modest effort on heavy ground at Sandown. Gave cheek in a black-type two runs back and won a BM78 at Cranbourne three runs ago. Can win if he finds that form. FAST FEVER (8) was lining up for just the second time, and was resuming from a 316-day spell, when a desperately close 4th over 1100m at Hamilton recently. Open to plenty of improvement. SHIR (5) has been freshened up since driving late and just missing over 1300m at Cranbourne 45 days ago in heavy going. Has won 2/4 at the trip and if Ollie can work his magic from the wide gate he is a winning chance. MIDAS MAN (3) could surprise while fresh. SELECTIONS: #2 Explicitly looks perfectly placed.
