Randwick: Race 3 @ 1.15pm

TRUE DETECTIVE (3) was very good fresh before simply set an impossible task behind Misteed. Suspect he will be even better on top of the ground and gives the impression he will relish the step up in trip. JMac takes over and he should prove very hard to beat. Stablemate LUCICELLO (2) was very good behind a smart one in Dawn Passage last start and while she will be giving them all a start, she should be very strong late. SUPERIUM (5) returned in great order last start and with further improvement expected, he has to be included, along with ATHIRI (1). SELECTIONS: Keen on #3 True Detective, saving on #2 Lucicello.

Morphettville: Race 1 @ 1.06pm (AEDT)

INTRIGUE (6) has to be closely watched. She is bred to be fast, has trialled well and the fact she debuts at this level rather than in a maiden is a good sign. The inside draw could well be important too. HAFAAWA (5) only won on the synthetic but did it in some style. She will sit in behind that speed and run home. BETTER HARDEN UP (4) will be better suited back onto a slightly firmer track. Could need a little more ground. ROCCABASCERANA (1) resumes after an impressive win. Has done nothing wrong on and before race day. HANKSTAR (3) came from last to win first time out. SELECTION: Assuming she is well liked then #6 Intrigue is the one.

Gold Coast: Race 8 @ 3.57pm

TARDIS (4) is a very consistent sprinter who has put together a string of wins and placings. She chased well when runner up at Doomben last start and won her only previous attempts at both the course and the distance. Strong chance. ALBERT'S NO PUSSY (2) made it two in a row with an easy win at Newcastle. He is putting together a handy record and rates as a big danger. ALL IMPORTANT (7) led throughout at Doomben two back and wasn't far away last time. He can give a sight again. ALASKAN SUN (6) deserves respect after winning his past two while NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS (1) got close last time and could peak third up. SELECTION: The consistent #4 Tardis for the win.

Moonee Valley: Race 8 @ 4.45pm

TAVISAN (11) was left working hard from a wide draw last time. Kicked hard but just picked off late in the piece by USAIN BOWLER (9) who turns up again. That form looks the right starting point for this and thinking that with a softer run, which looks likely, Tavisan can get some revenge now. Usain Bowler will run well again and TERBIUM (8) is a key runner resuming. Has trialled up well and shown smart form to this point. No shock to see him end up in better races than this. HEPTAGON (3) and MAHAMEDEIS (4) are others to run well fresh off breaks. SELECTION: #11 Tavisan gets his chance.

Belmont: Race 6 @ 5.09pm (AEDT)

EXPRESS FLIRT (3) is a consistent type who if fitter for two runs back and drawn to have every chance. UNI TIME (2) is clearly the horse to beat and he will just need to find the right spot in a potentially slowly run race. TRUMP THIS (10) will get back and be charging home fresh. KIA ORA STAR (7) and BEAUTY KANAS (6) are both coming off handy efforts last time out and have a show. SELECTION: #3 Express Flirt has each way appeal.

After unlucky seconds at his first two runs this preparation, True Detective broke through a deserved win, albeit being awarded in the stewards' room. He began well on this occasion and was racing in fifth place (between runners) at the 600m before easing into clear running at the 300m. He challenged at the 200m but was carried deep in the latter stages, and after being second past the post, he gained the win on protest. Superium raced in third place, one off the rails, improved rounding the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and was first past the post but was relegated to second on protest. Lucicello again settled back in the field and was eighth at the home turn. She then kept running on nicely to take third without looking likely to threaten in the sprint home. Edison was seventh on the rails at the home turn and after being blocked, he made good late ground for (3.7 lengths) fourth.
