Promising colt Super Seth staged a very good first-up effort in winning here. He settled in a good spot, back in fifth place, one off the rails, tracking good tempo before improving nicely nearing the home turn. He challenged at the 200m and proved too strong in the closing stages to win well. King Of Hastings went to the front and fought gamely when challenged for a very good second at his first run back. Sebrakate raced in third place on the rails, eased into clear running at the 100m and then finished well to take third, looking somewhat unlucky. Barcali raced outside the leader (King Of Hastings) and fought gamely in the straight for (1.5 lengths) fourth while Missile Mantra finished well from the tail of the field for fifth, beaten two lengths.
