The Mark Newnham-trained filly Every Rose, an impressive barrier trial winner at the Kensington track on September 23, showed the benefit of that experience with a very smart race-day debut victory here. She began quickly and went to the front. She then travelled well, dashed clear on straightening before going on to win well and in smart time. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly Stellar Pauline began well, raced a bit greenly before settling in seventh place, switched deeper on straightening and then ran on really well for second and looks a filly with a good future. Ticket To Ride settled near the tail of the field and was last nearing the home turn. She eased deeper on straightening and kept running on really well for a good third in a good effort on debut. The Ron Quinton-trained filly Orpheum was slowly away and was last early on before improving to be ninth at the home turn. She then made good ground for (2.6 lengths) fourth in a promising run on debut.
