The Mike Moroney-trained mare Tofane staged a smart performance in recording her first stakes success here, her third win from eight starts to date. She settled just beyond midfield, between runners, tracking a good pace before Dwayne Dunn switched her into clear running at the 300m. She then showed a good turn of foot to take the lead at the 100m and went on to score a very good win. The favourite Manicure had to work in the early stages from her wide barrier (11) before settling in third place (deep). She got to the front at the 200m and then fought on well for second after her early efforts. Sweet Scandal had a nice trip in fourth place, was in a challenging position at the 200m and then battled on nicely to take the minor placing. Resin raced in seventh place (between runners), got a split at the 200m and then kept fighting on well for fourth.
