Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 20.
Ballarat Synthetic: Race 6 @ 3.30pm
A good tempo looks assured as Sebeat rolls to the lead ahead of I Am The Fox and Splendid. I AM THE FOX (3) followed a huge win over 2200m at Pakenham Synthetic two starts back with a modest 4th at Murtoa last Monday over 2050m. Grows a leg on the all-weather tracks so watch for him to return to peak form. Jye McNeil taking over is a key engagement. ZOUY'S COMET (1) hasn't really threatened in four runs this prep, all in far tougher races than this. Failed to run on last start in a Bm78 over 2250m in Adelaide. Huge class drop today and with the claim looks pretty well in. Can bounce back. SEBEAT (10) is racing well without winning including a recent 2nd over 1600m at Pakenham Synthetic. Unproven at this distance but with a soft run from the inside alley he should be thereabouts at the finish. Last start maiden winner ENBARR (4) is next best. SELECTION: Very keen on the synthetic track specialist #3 I Am The Fox.

Goulburn: Race 5 @ 3:05pm
Mr Costigan looks the pacemaker. RIOT ACT (5) brought good figures to resumption for the new yard and blitzed the Nowra Maidens from the speed. He'd impressed in the Hawkesbury trial prior and has more to give. The mile shouldn't bother this time around and he can win again with a good ride pushing forward. ISADORA TWINKLE (6) won here at the mile and then missed a whisker in similar and didn't have the best of it. She gets a sticky gate but a bounce wouldn't surprise. ESTAVERDI (11) will be improved following the two runs back and was unlucky here 19 days ago when meeting trouble late. She will get a soft run again and has more up the sleeve. DELUDE (8) was better missing a nose in the CL2 at Moruya. He's in the mix with the claim and using the low gate. SELECTION: #5 Riot Act is showing plenty of promise and can go on with it.
Wellington Race 7 @ 4:35pm
Highly Desired and California Fox can make the speed. WESTLINK (6) won two trials and then came from the back beaten 2.2L at Scone on resumption. He's improved and the long trip should suit. He's the one to beat. HIGHLY DESIRED (3) is fast and right up to this. He's trialled well and is sharp fresh. He will make short work on the tricky gate and a bold run is on the cards. A MAGIC ZARIZ (1) has just missed the last two at this level and they stack right up. She carries big weights and a senior hoop replaces the apprentice. He is a solid each way chance. CASZAR (9) has just missed the last three and Greg Ryan is back on. He always needs a good ride but gets another chance. SELECTION: A competitive day's racing. #6 Westlink has the upside and can win the last.
