3 minute read

Racing and Sports analysts Jaike Altieri and Ethan Perry bring the punters a Saturday multi-bet featuring racing from around the country.

We were so close to making it two wins in-a-row, but David Vandyke had other ideas for his star filly Gyspy Goddess, who went down by a half-length in a performance that resembled a barrier trial more than a black type race.

Nevertheless, we remain up in the Sunshine State with the first Group 1 of Stradbroke Season on our doorstep. A last start winner and a Queensland local make their way into the multi, along with a gelding that you just have to back wherever he goes.

Check it out below.

Eagle Farm Race 4 Number 10 STARTANTESPlace ($1.65, Ladbrokes)

Presents as the class horse in this field. She's unlucky not to have a G1 under her belt after missing by a nose in the Surround Stakes in February. Goes well second-up and should take plenty of improvement from her fresh run. A rain affected track presents no concerns, and most importantly, she has proven she handles the Eagle Farm surface. Hard to not see her featuring.

Eagle Farm Race 7 Number 1 CHARACTERPlace ($1.80)

Looks another great chance again this weekend after scoring softly here a fortnight ago. Drawn ideally once more and with some of his main rivals drawn wide, he should have the drop on them when straightening. Rise in trip will suit; he's rock-hard fit and receives the services of 'J-Mac'. Looks like a clear top pick but we are electing to play it safe at a healthy place quote.

Scone Race 7 Number 4 OR Race 9 Number 18 ANDERMATT - Win ($2.35 R7 and $2.20 R9)

We're with Andermatt wherever he goes on Saturday. He is dual-accepted, but comes up as an emergency in Race 9. He's been dominant so far this campaign, winning by 6L and 2.75L respectively. This is a bit tougher, but his numbers show he's a class above his rivals. Kerrin McEvoy is engaged in Race 9, which does hint they may head that way if he gains a start, but we believe he'll prove too good no matter where he shows up.

All together, if Andermatt starts in Race 7 at Scone, you can get $5.39 (Ladbrokes, 2PM AEST Thursday), and if he starts in Race 9, you can get $5.04.
