TRIAL POINTERS

RANDWICK MAY 13: The unraced 2YO PENCILED appeals as a hot prospect as he looked a class above his rivals winning his debut trial over 1040m (64.36; 36.53) under the kindest ride from Tommy Berry. He's a strong colt with a beautiful action typical of the Written Tycoon breed and couldn't have been more impressive travelling easily three and four deep before taking control of his heat over the last 200m. The fastest 2YO heat win over 1040m was recorded by STICK TO YOUR GUNS (63.10; 36.11), an unraced Capitalist gelding and previously noted after a good placing when he trialled at Warwick Farm on April 30. The maidens SHOTGUN ALLI and KITTYHAWK FLYER are certain to be fancied to win races in the near future after smart wins in their heats. SHOTGUN ALLI surged to the line for an easy 2.5 lengths in the 3YO heat over 1040m (64.46; 36.61) while the More Than Ready filly KITTYHAWK FLYER, placed in three of her five runs, won her 740m heat (44.76; 33.93) with something in hand.

HAWKESBURY May 10: The Matt Dunn-trained I AM GOOD AT THIS won his 1000m heat in good style (60.46; 35.55) after showing talent in four previous trials.

RANDWICK May 3: STORMBORN, a strong filly Mark Newnham has inherited from the Lindsay Park stable, was an impressive 3YO heat winner in good time (42.68; 33.12),. The form in her heat has already proven to be a solid guide.
