RACE 2 (10) TWENTYFOUR CARAT: With just six starts it's fair to say the best is yet to be seen of this positive improver who has had little go his way in two 1400m outings since resuming. Struck trouble and should have been closer at the finish when second on the Kensington track on December 6 and can go to a new peak here with a handy 3.5kg drop in weight from a soft inside draw.
RACE 5 (5) SMARTEDGE: Worked to the line strongly under 60.5kg when resuming over 1400m at Rosehill on December 7 and only needs to make the expected improvement off that effort to go close in this company. Another good ride for Tommy Berry as he will relish a 6kg drop in weight and the return to his home track where he boasts excellent credentials.
RACE 7 (4) WORD FOR WORD: Missed a place for the first time in seven career starts when resuming over 1350m at Rosehill on December 7 where she was in all sorts of bother getting a clear run and went to the line an untested fourth just a half a length from the winner Handspun. Meets that mare 1.5kg better and clearly rates as the one to beat this time with a kinder passage.
