RACE 1 (12) SAUSEDGE: Talented Canberra trained mare hasn't been seen in Sydney since she ended her last prep with a big win in a lesser BM 78 over this course and distance in November. She has since had two starts at home for a strong first-up second under a big weight followed by a luckless fifth in the National Sprint (1400m) on Black Opal day where she was back and wide on a track that played against the run on horses. Suspect this has been a target race as she gets better into her campaigns. Well placed to build on her strong record of six wins from 12 starts.
RACE 5 (12) HANDLE THE TRUTH: Veteran Canberra trainer Keith Dryden has had many notable sprinters over the years (Into The Night, Tumble On, Coolroom Candidate, Roll On By etc) and this classy 4YO is right up there after adding a classy first-up win over 1000m under 61.5kg on his home track on Black Opal day to his imposing record of eight wins from 16 starts. They include a treble of wins over this course and distance and his strong first-up win has him ready to add to that score as he will relish the 8kg drop from his latest success.
