RANDWICK PARLAY

RACE 2 (7) AMITTO: The Godolphin stable are masters at placing their rising three-year-olds to advantage against older horses and are poised to do it again with this promising Lonhro filly. She was too classy for older mares over 1600m last time at Warwick Farm for her third win from her last five starts and is definitely looking for the step up to 1800m. Well placed dropping 3kg from her latest win, giving her a handy weight advantage over her 4YO rivals.

RACE 4 (9) L'COSMO: Can only be fitter for a strong first-up second over 1100m on this track when she drove hard to the line to just miss by a nose after a wide run. Has been a model of consistency with top three placings in 10 of her 11 starts - including four from four on this track - and should get all the favours this time from her inside draw.

RACE 7 (9) HILO: Easy winner over this course and distance three runs back when resuming and backing him to regain that form dropping back to this Benchmark company after two subsequent placings in strong 3YO stakes races on affected tracks over the carnival. Rachel King rides him well and he will be suited by the return to 1200m.

TRIAL WATCH REPORT

NOTED TRIAL RUNNERS – May 1-2

RANDWICK SATURDAY: Wild Ruler (R1); Sancy (R1); Velorum (R1); Ballistic Lover (R1); Newsreader (R1); Fiteuse (R4); Intrepidacious (R5); Kylease (R5); Into The Abyss (R7); Bandersnatch (R8)

NEWCASTLE SATURDAY: Torrid (R2); Pythia (R2); Trieste (R3); Shuwaamekh (R6); Sybella (R6)

HAWKESBURY TUESDAY: Noble Albert (R4); Big Suzie (R5); Ralph's Folly (R5)

KYLEASE (Warwick Farm April 17): There are few quicker mares over the short courses in Sydney. She was too sharp for her rivals by 4.5 lengths in the fastest of the 806m heats (47.16; 33.40), this being her second trial win since returning to work. She is ready for the right race first-up.

VELORUM (Rosehill April 20): Not A Single Doubt youngster showed he had come on strongly from his first trial when placed at Randwick to dominate his 900m heat (54.50; 34.90) with a stylish front running win, going to the line with plenty in hand. Promising.

TRIESTE (Hawkesbury April 23): This Brad Widdup-trained maiden, previously noted when he won a Hawkesbury trial on April 6, again showed talent with his soft second in his 1000m heat. Looks well prepared for a coming maiden.

SHUWAAMEKH (Randwick April 21): Snitzel filly has better trial form than she has shown in her first two unplaced starts. She again looked more than capable with the way she cruised away from her maiden rivals in her 1045m heat to score by a soft 3.3 lengths with more in hand.

NEWCASTLE April 20: Kim Waugh's unraced RALPH'S FOLLY recorded a strong win, not the first time he has shown more than enough to be confident about his chances when produced. Former Victorian mare BIG SUZIE made an impression in her first outing for Kris Lees with her easy 1000m heat win.

RECENT TRIAL WATCH WINNERS:  Salina Dreaming; Lion's Roar; Sally's Day; Maui Girl; Bold And Wild; Frosty Rocks; Peltzer; Irish Thunder; The Bopper; Amusez Moi; Kinloch; Sauvestre; Bellevue Star; Missile Heat; Ranier; Snitz; Macleay; Golden Tycoon; Secretly Awesome.
