RACE 4 (1) EXPRESS COURIER: Has emerged a real Canberra star for the Keith Dryden stable, winning six of his last eight starts over distances from 1300m to 2000m carrying up to 62.5kg. He won twice over this trip at the end of his last prep and has been in sparkling form since resuming with Tom Sherry's claim a huge benefit for him as he drops 7.5kg from his latest Canberra win over 1600m. The state of the track should not be a concern as he has won in very heavy conditions and confident his National Capital form will prove to be a grade above this country-only field.
RACE 7 (1) SAVATIANO: Class mare is perfectly placed against her own sex at level weight as she holds several ratings points over her closest rivals. Best when fresh, she has gone 35 days since her last run over 1400m at Flemington and her strong fourth in a Randwick trial last week is an ideal prep for this event. Drawn wide but she can land with a good trail as the pacy pair Positive Peace and Irithea are drawn underneath her and they should take her across in the first 400m. Anywhere near her best Group 1 and 2 form on affected tracks and she should be winning.
RACE 8 (11) PROMOTIONS: Ready to peak after two solid efforts since resuming with the form around him excellent after his last start second at Randwick where subsequent winners Enchanted Heart and Atlantic King were first and third. He had to work outside the lead in that race and should be open to improvement as he is favoured by the weights this time with 2.5kg less. Boasts near perfect soft and heavy credentials (6-1-2-2) including his excellent Canberra Guineas win last season on a Soft 7.
