ROSEHILL MULTI

RACE 2 (2) ALMANIA: There was an air of high expectancy around this import when he made his Australian debut over 2000m at Flemington on November 7 and it's fair to say he should have won when beaten only a nose under 61kg. His only UK win was over a much shorter trip but he has done most of his racing in this distance range and has been stakes placed up to 2800m. Astute stable has him well placed in this grade and Hugh Bowman should have taken plenty from riding for the first time at Flemington. The horse to beat with his expected improvement.

RACE 4 (4) SAUSEDGE: Happy to look for value in this open affair. This honest mare has performed without luck in her two starts since resuming, following up a late closing fourth over 1300m on the Kensington track at Randwick with a luckless third in the Snake Gully Cup over 1400m at Gundagai when she flew late after being in all sorts of bother in a packed field around the tight turns. She's suited in this grade on the bigger track and ticks the right boxes as a Rosehill winner with plenty of scope for improvement off her recent efforts.

.RACE 5 (7) PLAQUETTE: Talented Godolphin mare returns to Sydney from a sterling effort down the straight at Flemington on November 7 when a close third in a BM80 over 1100m under 57kg. Her two prior efforts at Randwick saw her win first-up over 1100m (Kensington) before ripping home to be beaten only a head over 1000m in this class . Her sectionals over the last 600m in that sprint were outstanding and she only has to reproduce that rating to have the measure of this field.

NOTED TRIALS

WARWICK FARM November 17: Always good with his sprinters, Joe Pride has EASY EDDIE and PASSAGE OF TIME geared to perform boldly after strong wins in the 803m heats. EASY EDDIE has been off the scene for 12 months but his trials have shown he has lost none of his speed. He did it easily from the front in his strong heat (46.85; 33.14) where the efforts of the placegetter THREEOOD was also noteworthy. PASSAGE OF TIME has needed his trials to reach racing co0njditions and he is ready to go after working strongly to the line in his heat (46.88;33.42).

The quickest time in the three 2YO heats was recorded by the Goulburn-trained Sooboog filly PRINCESS SPICE (47.37; 33.75). She has good pace and had something left although the strong second by the previously noted HIDE YOUR HEART confirmed her talent and she was visually the better trial.

HAWKESBURY November 16: Godolphin's classy Group performer VIRIDINE won his 1000m heat unextended in 59.81and another of their quality runners PHAISTOS finishing an impressive third in the only 1200m heat won by NOBLE BOY. Godolphin also took the honours in the 2YO heats with the Teofilo filly VIANELLO leading easily to score by almost four lengths in the fastest oi three juvenile heats over 800m (47.85).

ROSEHILL November 12: The maiden heats should be a good source of future winners. BOOMKO (53.71; 34.96) was a good heat winner with obvious potential.

RANDWICK November 10: The 1050m heat winner to impress was POETIC CHARMER from the Snowden stable. He looks ready to go first-up after comfortably reeling in his rivals from off the pace for a soft win (64.00; 35.33).

WARWICK FARM November 4: Snitzel filly CENTRO STORICO was impressive with a sharp four lengths win in the fastest of the two 2YO heats over 807m (47.89; 33.73), almost two seconds quicker than the colts heat (49.64; 35.20). Godolphin sprinter VIRIDINE also impressed finishing third after he was given an easy time over the last 300m.
