RANDWICK December 8

A Grass/Polytrack; Good 4

17 Heats - A Grass 1 x 1200m (Open); 1 x 1045m (2YO); 7 x 1040m (4 Open; 3 Maiden); 7 x 735m (3 2YO; 1 Open; 3 Maiden); Polytrack 1 x 1080m (Open)

Les Bridge, John Sargent and the Snowden team would have enjoyed these trials with each stable producing a number of their lightly-raced prospects for pleasing heat wins.

There was a bit of class on show with the Snowden-trained pair BARBARIC and AIM confirming that they are set for good summer campaigns.

BARBARIC had his first trial since he won the Black Opal in Canberra last autumn and he can only progress from a strong front running win in his 1040m heat in good time (61.73; 33.45). AIM did enough to win his heat over the same trip (61.86; 33.68) and should take benefit from the hitout.

Les Bridge may have lost his gun Classique Legend to Hong Kong but sharp heat winners MADAM LEGEND and LEGEND RULES are owned in the same interests and will help fill the void in his stable. MADAM LEGEND was in good winning form in the winter and is set to add to her record after posting the fastest 1040m heat win (61.17; 33.44) with something in hand.

John Sargent won three heats with his standout being the unraced Snitzel filly FOUR MOVES AHEAD, one we noted in her first trial in October. She again made an impression with her soft win the fastest of the 2YO heats over 735m (42.70; 32.71).

Clare Cunningham's 7YO gelding CRADLE MOUNTAIN is a bit of an enigma but he showed his old spark with an impressive win in the only 1200m heat, running them along at better than average trial pace and forging away to score by 5.5 lengths in good time for a trial over this trip (71.89; 34.05).

There were a number of nice trials in the maiden heats with the unraced ROCKRIBBED, a Night Of Thunder 3YO from the Maher/Eustace yard, setting the time standard for the class over 1040m (61.86; 34.11). John O'Shea's Not A Single Doubt filly SINGLE POINT showed she had progressed in the right manner from her first prep with the way she attacked the line for a strong win in her 735m heat (43.91; 33.39). LEGEND RULES was the quickest of the maiden winners over 735m (42.70; 32.54), dominating his heat to score easily by three lengths.
