TRIAL POINTERS
CANTERBURY DECEMBER 15: IRISH ANGEL has won only one once in 11 starts but there is good depth in her form, especially on wet tracks. This was her first trial since August and the way she controlled her 895m heat (54.48; 34.10) was dominant with Tommy Berry giving her the quietest of rides as she cruised clear in her favoured conditions over the last 300m.
ROSEHILL NOVEMBER 30: OVERLORD is one of the best maidens going around but that should change over the summer after his strong return to win his 900m heat in good time (53.94; 34.29). Settled a close third and tracked three wide to work up to the leaders on the turn before Hugh Bowman called on him to forge clear with the big gelding doing his best work over the last 100 metres.
