TRIAL POINTERS
RANDWICK August 20: Waterhouse and Bott have a nice type in THE RAMPANT, an unraced 4YO gelding by Snitzel having his second trial. He showed good race sense to win his 1045m heat (63.97; 35.16), hitting the line impressively under a soft ride from off the pace. His unraced 5YO stablemate INVINCIBLE VISION recorded his fourth trial win (63.03; 34.90) in preparation for his overdue first race appearance. He did best over the last 100m in the fastest maiden heat.
WARWICK FARM August 17: The unraced $1.9 million Deep Impact yearling PROFONDO added his trial record with another impressive effort, sprinting strongly to the line from off the pace for a dominant win in his maiden heat over 1175m (61.65; 35.51). He's now won three trials since May.
WARWICK FARM August 9: PROFONDO produced another impressive display to easily take out the fastest of the four 740m heats (42.89; 33.03). He sat behind two leaders and produced a sharp sprint over the last 150m to run clear for a soft win.
RANDWICK AUGUST 6: INVINCIBLE VISION is a 5YO gelding who won his first two trials in the spring of 2018 and didn't have his third trial until last September when second at Wyong. His natural talent was again evident as he worked strongly to the line for a narrow win, giving hope that he will soon get to the races. The stable obviously regards him highly to persevere with him for three years!
RANDWICK May 3: The Richard Litt-trained PROFONDO produced the standout trial win over 1050m. He settled six lengths off the lead on the rails before he was eased to the outside on straightening. Once balanced he showed a classy turn of foot to sprint past the leaders, running strongly through the line under a hold in the fastest of the eight heats over 1050m (61.90; 34.14).
