RANDWICK MULTI

RACE 4 (9) THE FACE: Lightly raced young sprinter has shown plenty of quality with a win and three placings from just four career starts. Sure to be fitter for his last start when a game second on a heavy track in the Listed Gosford Guineas (1200m) after resuming with a close second over this course and distance. Back to 1100m on a firm surface and down 2kg from his Gosford placing looks a strong recipe for success in this class.

RACE  7 (10) BLONDEAU: Has always promised something and his last start win in the heavy over 1300m at Warwick Farm could be the turning point as it came at just his second run off a spell and indicated he would really appreciate a longer trip on a bigger track. He was placed in the G2 Todman Stakes behind Farnan and Tagaloa in his only previous start at Randwick and should appreciate firm ground when you note his early form on good tracks around the likes of Aim and King's Legacy.

RACE 8 (8) BANDERSNATCH: Resumed with two excellent Melbourne efforts in strong form races before switching back to Sydney for his last start second over 1200m at this course when he charged late under 58kg to just miss by a nose. Would have won last time if he had maintained a straight course in the last 200m and the addition of winkers is an important gear change. Hard to beat with 4kg less over the extra 200m.

TRIAL POINTERS

GOSFORD January 19: Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Boott have a sharp maiden prospect in BOJACK, an easy all the way winner of his 1000m heat in good time (59.94; 35.72). He's now trialled three times for two wins and looks ready to go.

ROSEHILL January 15: Annabel Neesham's quality filly ASHEMA, runner up to the highly rated Acrobat at her first start, impressed with her strong heat win in good time (53.95; 34.42). She has trained on well from her debut.

ROSEHILL January 4: I have been waiting for the return of Pierro 4YO GREEN KUDOS since he won his first Sydney trial in June. Has had an obvious hiccup but looks back on track after taking control of his 898m heat and doing it in style to win eased down in the fastest of the four trials over the trip (54.30; 34.65). He's unbeaten in five trials and obviously has much more talent than he displayed in his only race start in Brisbane last season when unplaced as favourite.
