Chris Scholtz reviews Sydney barrier trials at Warwick Farm, on August 3.
WARWICK FARM August 3
Course Proper (Soft 5)/Polytrack
19 Heats – Course Proper 5 x 1200m (3 Open; 2 Maiden); 3 x 804m (3 Open); 3 802m (3 Maiden); 2 x 799m (2 maiden); Polytrack 1 x 1175m (Open); 5 x 740m (5 Open)
Another set impacted by COVID with all heats restricted to Warwick Farm-trained horses and ridden by many locally-based track riders.
Could not take much from the results apart from some nice trials by the capable performers SOLDIER OF LOVE; LAURE ME IN, SPIRIT RIDGE and STOLEN JADE.

Maidens worth noting for the future included WAY OF THE STARS and AITCHDEETEE.
CAPITAL REIGN, PARACHUTER and TIME TESTED were good enough in the polytrack trials.
For the record the fastest heat winners in the turf trials were SOLDIER OF LOVE (1200m – 71.92; 34.88); PIPPALI (804m – 47.40; 34.23); WAY TO THE STARS (802m – 48.33; 34.20); and AITCHDEETEE (799m – 47.26; 34.29). VITAE recorded the fastest win in the five polytrack heats over 740m (43.80; 33.39)
