WARWICK FARM August 17

Course Proper; Good 4

Polytrack/Synthetic

17 Heats – Course Proper 2 x 1200m (Open); 3 x 805m (Open); 3 x 800m (2 Open; 1 Maiden); Polytrack 3 x 1175m (1 Open; 2 Maiden); 6 x 740m (1 Open; 5 Maiden)

More spring teasers from two of the best in the business with crack sprinters Eduardo and Gytrash hooking up in their first trial appearances for the season.

They contested an 805m heat on the course proper with EDUARDO's natural speed giving him the edge over the short course.

The Joe Pride-trained sprinter had NICTOCK for company but his class kicked in over the last 400m as he did it well within himself to record a soft win in the fastest heat of the morning (47.31; 33.20).

GYTRASH lobbed along at the rear and worked it into it strongly over the last 200m for an equally impressive third, 3.75 lengths from the winner.

The unraced $1.9 million Deep Impact yearling PROFUNDO added his trial record with another impressive effort, sprinting strongly to the line from off the pace for a dominant win in his maiden heat over 1175m (61.65; 35.51). He's now won three trials since May - surely he must be close to making his race debut.

The better trials in the other open heats BRUCKNER, BARGAIN, NIMALEE LORD OLYMPUS, ZOISITE and FIFTEEN ARIA were responsible for the better trials in the other open company heats while maidens to make an impression included AKHTAR, RED ROMANCE, STEELSHEEN and DJAWADI.
