The Frankie Lor-trained Australian-bred Winning Dreamer (4 g ex Deep Field - Markisa by Danehill) took his unrecord to six when he landed the Lord Kanaloa Handicap (1200m) at Sha Tin on Sunday, leading home an Australian bred trifecta in the process.

The gelding kicked off the winning streak when he made a winning debut over 1000 metres on May 31 and he brought up his sixth straight victory when beating Beauty Applause (Stratum) by a length, while California Red (Fastnet Rock) was another head away in third.

Purchased by Tartan Meadow Bloodstock and Peter KS So for NZ$300,000 at the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka National Yearling Sale in 2018 from the Haunui Farm draft, Winning Dreamer is out of winning Danehill (Danzig) mare Markisa and her progeny is headed by Listed scorer Ocean Jewel (Ocean Park), while she is also the grandam of Group 2 scorer The Real Beel (Savabeel) and Group 3 scorer Catch Me (I Am Invincible).

The gelding’s third dam is Group 1 winner Marquise (Gold and Ivory) - the dam of fellow elite level winner Shower Of Roses (Zabeel), while further back this is the same family as 2018 Vinery Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Hiyaam (High Chaparral).

Further afield this is the same family as Group 3-winning pair Dark Princess (Cape Blanco) and Exquisite Jewel (Lucky Unicorn).

Haunui Farm will offer a colt by Cambridge Stud shuttler Almanzor (Wootton Bassett) during Book 1 of the New Zealand Bloodstock National Karaka Yearling Sale and he is catalogued as Lot 527.

Newgate Farm-based Deep Field has had seven winners in Hong Kong from just 15 starters and four winners so far this season, with this progeny in the jurisdiction headlined by unbeaten gelding Winning Dreamer.

The son of Northern Meteor (Encosta De Lago) has 54 lots catalogued at next year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, which gets underway on January 12.
