McEvoy Mitchell Racing has announced that their training, spelling, and horse education facility, Kildalton Farm at Murbko on the River Murray in South Australia is on the market.

The property was first established by the late Colin Hayes back in the 1970's as part of his Lindsay Park empire.

"To offer the farm for sale is a particularly hard decision," McEvoy told Racing.com.

"Our team refers to it as a 'horse resort' and I have a very strong emotional connection with the property.

"We know it keeps our horse's minds and bodies fresh and happy, and allows them to rejuvenate faster. It has been a huge part of not only our success in recent years but for Lindsay Park for many decades previously.

"If another trainer, pre-trainer, breaker, or even investor acquires the property, we would certainly be interested in continuing to spell and educate our horses there if it were in line with the new owner's plans."

Kildalton Farm consists of 108 acres of perfectly maintained and irrigated lush paddocks with 600 metres of River Murray frontage, and with a lease in place for an adjacent 12 acre property.

The irrigation network was updated in May by leading pump specialists Envirotech Water Solutions and there is site use approval from SA Water for 1000 megalitres attached to the property.

Some of Kildalton Farm's other facilities include two horse breaking/education yards, a mechanical walker, 1200 metre sand track, three kilometer trotting trail, and 12 undercover stables.

Top of the range horse rail technology has been utilized to separate a large portion of the yards and paddocks.

In its current design the property will comfortably hold 60 horses and has the capacity to house 90.

The main residence is a prestigious four bedroom stone homestead with river outlook and recently renovated bathroom.

This is also complimented with another open plan four bedroom cottage and additional sleeping quarters adjacent to the main stabling complex.

Kildalton Farm is being sold through Elders Rural Platinum Portfolio.
