Winners keep coming for Capitalist, Tornado sires his fourth Group winner and Zoustar debutant Starry Legend created a big impression
1. Capitalist sired his sixth winner when Kalashnikov broke through for his first win defeating older horses over 1100m at Gosford on Wednesday.
2. Toronado sired his fourth Group winner when previous stakes winner Still A Star won the Vamos Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) at Launceston on Wednesday. Still A Star, one of ten stakes winners for Toronado worldwide, has now won her last five starts all at stakes level.
3. Glass Harmonium sired his first Group winner when Glass Warrior took at the Launceston Cup (Gr 3, 2400m) on Wednesday.
4. Zoustar debutant Starry Legend created a big impression scoring a three and three quarter length victory at Sandown-Hillside on Wednesday. The $500,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Segenhoe Stud is raced by Bon Ho and is out of winning Reset mare Savsenga.
5. Inglis Digital took its overall turnover past $100 million since its inception in May 2017 with the completion of the February (Late) Online Sale generating an aggregate of $2.17 million. Four-year-old gelding Heyington was the top lot of the sale being sold to Trent Needham for $95,000.
6. Racing NSW has announced significant prize money increases of almost $20 million annually. An increase of $9 million in country prize money and the creation of Midway races to be held on Saturday metropolitan meetings for small to mid-sized metropolitan and provincial trainers were the main features of the prize money boost.
7. Talented Savabeel filly Amarelinha will target the New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) ahead of a possible tilt at the Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) at Randwick on April 10.
8. Regal Power will return to West Australia and miss a defence of the All Star Mile after connections were not happy with the results of a blood test.
