Hanseatic, a son of Darley’s Street Boss who in winning provided his sire with his 38th stakes winner.
Saturday's opening race at Sandown, the Merson Cooper Stakes (Listed), was won convincingly by the Anthony Freedman-trained Hanseatic, a son of Darley's Street Boss who in winning provided his sire with his 38th stakes winner.
Having his first start, Hanseatic beat Dubai Star, a daughter of Pride Of Dubai, by one and three quarter lengths with River Night a close third. Hanseatic will be given a break ahead of a tilt at next year's Blue Diamond Stakes (Group 1).
Bred by Godolphin, Hanseatic is the third foal out of the Exceed And Excel mare Itameri who has a yearling filly by Frosted and slipped to Exosphere. His sire Street Boss stood the 2019 season for a fee of $27,500 (inc GST) at Darley's Northwood Park.
