6 juvenile heats at Canterbury. Monday morning's trials at Canterbury Park saw six juvenile heats all run over 902 metres.

The quickest of these was Heat 9 that was won by the Gary Moore-trained Mr Colorful (Headwater) who scored in a time of 54.54.

A colt from the first crop of Vinery Stud's Headwater (Exceed And Excel), Mr Colorful finished last on debut in the Breeders Plate (Group 3, 1000m) at Randwick on 5 October and Monday's trial was his second this preparation having also won at Hawkesbury on 16 December.

Mr Colorful jumped well from the barriers and went straight to the front. Rulership (I Am Invincible), from the Peter and Paul Snowden stable, sat just behind Mr Colorful and challenged in the straight, but the winner held him to the line, scoring by a half-length. The first two had pulled well clear of the rest of the field.

Rulership's stablemate Concealed (Deep Field), who was also racing in the China Horse Club colours, was six lengths back in third.

Mr Colorful is out of the Sharmadal (Giant's Causeway) mare Holder Sunset and was a $100,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase by George Moore Bloodstock.

In the following heat the Snowden-trained Pierro (Lonhro) colt Untamed was having his second barrier trial. He broke well from the barriers and settled down on the rails in second placed behind the Bjorn Baker-trained General Dubai (Pride Of Dubai). Into the straight Untamed took the lead and ran well to the line under Tommy Berry scoring a three quarter length victory in a time of 56.00.

Dance (Not A Single Doubt), also from the Snowden stable, finished second with the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Zion (Rubick) a close third.

Out of the unraced Fastnet Rock (Danehill) mare She's A Wildcat, Untamed was a $450,000 purchase by China Horse Club and Newgate Bloodstock from the draft of Luskin Park at this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. His second dam is Forest Native, dam of Foxwedge (Fastnet Rock) and his Listed-winning sister She's A Fox.

In Heat 8 the Chris Waller-trained Overlord (Sebring) scored a narrow victory over Prime Star (Starspangledbanner). Overlord went straight to the front from the barriers with Prime Star racing in second. That pair cornered together and were head-to-head the length of the straight with Overlord finishing a nose infront of the runner up in a time of 56.75.

Having his second trial after finishing fifth in a Randwick trial on 13 December, Overlord is out of the 2013 Myer Classic (Group 1) and Tattersall's Tiara (Group 1) winner Red Tracer (Dane Shadow) who, like this colt, was trained by Chris Waller for Geoff and May Grimish. Overlord is his dam's third foal. She has a yearling filly by Yarraman Park's I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) but missed to him in 2018.

The heat prior was won by the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Prague (Redoute's Choice). Raced by Aquis Farm and Phoenix Thoroughbreds, Prague settled down last of the seven runners. He went wide at the turn and then ran on strongly in the straight with Distinctive Glory (Olympic Glory) closing late on his outside. Prague scored by a short neck from Distinctive Glory with that pair three lengths clear of the rest.

Out of the placed Pins (Snippets) mare Purely Spectacular, making him a half-brother to Group 1 winning stallion Stratum Star (Stratum), Prague was bought for $1,600,000 by Phoenix and Aquis from the draft of Bhima Thoroughbreds at the Gold Coast in January.

The Maher - Eustace training partnership was also responsible for the winner of Heat 6. Racing in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Cellsabeel (Hinchinbrook) is out of talented racemare Our Egyptian Raine (Desert Sun)

. Cellsabeel broke from the outside barrier and settled down second last and wide. The daughter of the late Hinchinbrook (Fastnet Rock) came wide round the turn and then quickened well in the straight to take the lead and pulled away to score an easy victory by a length and a quarter under Tommy Berry.

Sold by Cressfield at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Cellsabeel was a $400,000 purchase for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum. She is out of the Group 1 winning sprinter Our Egyptian Raine making her a half-sister to the talented Bjorn Baker-trained Group winner Egyptian Symbol (Stratum).

Gary Moore was also responsible for two trial winners with Princess Zeddy (Zoustar) taking out Heat 5 in a time of 55.42. The filly beat Matt Smith's Everyone (Super One) by three and a half lengths.

By Widden Stud's Zoustar (Northern Meteor), Princess Zeddy (Incidential) is out of Miss Eddy and was having her first trial having been bought for $60,000 by Equi-Com at the Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale in October.
