King's Legacy lands B J McLachlan. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained juvenile King's Legacy provided his late Arrowfield Stud-based sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill) with his 170th stakes winner when taking out Saturday's B J McLachlan Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The colt is now likely to be aimed at the rich Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) at the Gold Coast in two weeks.

Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, King's Legacy ran down the Mark Newnham-trained filly Every Rose (Choisir) to score by a half length with another filly, Euphoric Summer (Not A Single Doubt), two and three quarter lengths back in third.

"I would be surprised if King's Legacy doesn't head there," co-trainer Peter Snowden said. "I will have to talk to the owners but it is a $2,000,000 race."

He said he wasn't surprised by King's Legacy's win but he had been surprised by the fact the horse had been up on the pace in the race.

"He hadn't really showed that much pace in his races. But I thought when it was that close today he would need to do something special to win," Snowden said.

"We can give him a nice lead up now without having to worry about qualifying."

King's Legacy was bought for $1,400,000 by James Harron Bloodstock from the draft of Segenhoe Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

One of 11 million dollar yearling purchases from the sale and the third most expensive lot overall, King's Legacy is the second foal out of the Listed-placed Hussonet (Mr Prospector) mare Breakfast In Bed. She was a $220,000 buy by Paul Moroney Bloodstock at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and was raced by Segenhoe Thoroughbreds.

King's Legacy's second dam is the dual winner Bella Sunday (Sunday Silence), dam of Group 1 winner Oohood (I Am Invincible), who is herself out of Singles Bar (Rory's Jester) making her a half-sister to Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice).

Bella Sunday's yearling filly by Sooboog (Snitzel) is catalogued as Lot 50 for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Segenhoe Stud.

Redoute's Choice has 9 lots catalogued for next month's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
