Blushed scores over 1000 metres at Hobart.
The Leanne Gaffney-trained Blushed (2 f ex Chestnut Star by Eternity Range) ran out a narrow winner of the Tasbred Maiden 2YO Plate (1000m) at Hobart on Saturday and in the process handed first-season sire Jabali (Exceed And Excel) his second winner.
The two-year-old, who was having her second career outing having finished third on debut last month, stayed on well to beat Reite Den Blitz (Night Of Thunder) by a neck.
Blushed was purchased as weanling for $4,000 at the 2018 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale and then again the following year for $41,000 by Denise Martin's Star Thoroughbreds and Randwick Bloodstock at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
She is out of the unraced mare Chestnut Star (Eternity Range) making her a half-sister to Listed winner Chinchilla (Exceed And Excel). Chestnut Star is herself a half-sister to Group 3 winner Jar Jar Binks (Danehill Dancer).
Jabali stood at Clear Mountain Fairview for a fee of $4,950 (inc GST) in 2019.
