Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Super Seth (3 c Dundeel - Salutations by Redoute's Choice) made an eye-catching comeback when he flew home to win the Manfred Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Anthony Freedman-trained colt was making his return having not been seen since his victory in the Group 1 and he never gave his supporters any worries eating up the ground with every stride in the straight, eventually coming away with a length and a quarter win over Free Of Debt (Unencumbered).

The three-year-old colt was purchased by Dean Hawthorne for $280,000 at Book 2 of the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Arrowfield Stud draft and will take up stud duties at Waikato Stud in New Zealand with the deal brokered following his elite level win at Caulfield in October.

Super Seth is out of Redoute's Choice (Danehill) mare Salutations making him a half-brother to Listed winner Wild Planet (Animal Kingdom) and another winner.

Salutations herself is out Group 3 winner Toast Of The Coast (Rory's Jester), while further back this is the same family as Group 2 winners Solo Show (Dahar) and Oak Door (Commands), Group 3 winner Solo Performance (Without Fear) and Listed-winning pair Clout (Justice Prevails) and Beyonce's Star (Orientate).

After slipping to Animal Kingdom (Leroidesanimaux) in 2018, Salutations produced a brother to Super Seth last season and has most recently returned to the son of High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells).

Dundeel stood at Arrowfield for a career high fee of $66,000 (inc GST) in 2019 where he covered 209 mares. The stallion's ten yearlings that sold at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale last month made an aggregate of $2,560,000, while his average was $256,000. He has sired nine other stakes winners to date including the fellow Group 1 winners Yourdeel, Castelvecchio and Atyaab.

Dundeel has 15 yearlings catalogued at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale as well as the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

The stallion enjoyed a double on the day after his daughter She's Ideel (4 m Dundeel - Ana's Mail, by Anabaa) landed the Schweppes Handicap (2000m) at Randwick. The Bjorn Baker-trained mare's Deep Field (Northern Meteor) half-brother will be offered as Lot 594 at the upcoming Inglis Classic Yearling Sale which begins its three day run in Sydney on February 9.
