Vinery Stud-based first-season sire Headwater (Exceed And Excel) was handed his third winner on Sunday when Aquagirl (2 f ex Galapagos Girl by Dehere) landed the Firstly Sprint 2YO Plate (1000m) at Flemington.

The two-year-old filly was having her second career outing having finished third on debut and she finished strongly to beat Bombay Rocket (Snitzel) by half a length.

Purchased by Dalziel Racing, Peter Moody and her trainer Phillip Stokes for $55,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Cressfield draft, the filly is out of Group 3-winning Dehere (Deputy Minister) mare Galapagos Girl making her a half-sister to Group 2-placed Villami (Foxwedge).

Galapagos Girl herself is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Procrastinate (Jade Hunter) - the dam of multiple South African Grade 1 winner Laisserfaire (Danehill), who is herself the grandam of Grade 3 winner Kampala Campari (Querari).

Meanwhile, Galapagos Girl also counts Group 3 winner A Time For Julia (Redoute's Choice), Listed winners Time Thief (Redoute's Choice), Foreplay (Danehill) and Personify (Galileo) and Kampaign (Kampala) among her other siblings.

In 2018 Galapagos Girl foaled a filly by Headwater's barnmate All Too Hard (Casino Prince) and in 2019 she produced another filly by Headwater.
