Coolmore Stud-based first season sire Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry) was handed his fourth first-crop winner courtesy of Maha's (2 f ex Makrooma by Fastnet Rock) victory in a maiden plate over 1100 metres at Bendigo on Tuesday.

The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained two-year-old filly was bred and is raced by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, who owned her sire Pride Of Dubai during his racing career, and she showed a good attitude to keep Awkward's (Teofilo) advances at bay.

Maha joins Listed winner Tanker, Sense Of Honour and Platinum Dubai as the stallions other winners and he has also produced the stakes placed pair Bella Nipotina and Dubai Star.

Maha is out of unraced Fastnet Rock (Danehill) Makrooma, who is herself out of the winning mare McHappy (Rory's Jester). McHappy is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Scandinavia (Snippets) - the dam of Group 1 winner and now Sun Stud resident Magnus (Flying Spur), Group 2 winners Wilander (Exceed And Excel), Scandiva (Fastnet Rock) and Listed winner Arctic Flight (Flying Spur).

Among Scandinavia's other progeny is Helsinge (Desert Sun) - the dam of unbeaten champion racemare Black Caviar (Bel Esprit) and multiple Group 1 winner and now Vinery Stud resident All Too Hard (Casino Prince). Meanwhile, Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) runner-up Hanseatic (Street Boss) also features on the page.

In 2018 Makrooma produced a colt by Kitchwin Hills resident Sooboog (Snitzel) and after not being covered in 2018 was served by Pride Of Dubai last October.

Fastnet Rock is making a name for himself as broodmare sire with 24 of his daughters producing stakes winners, including three Group 1 winners; Santa Ana Lane (Lope De Vega), Tivaci (High Chaparral) and Gytrash (Lope De Vega).

Pride Of Dubai covered 176 mares at a fee of $38,500 (inc GST) in 2019 and he has 20 lots catalogued at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale which gets underway on Sunday, while the stallion has nine lots set to go under the hammer at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale which begins it's two-day run on April 7.
