Dame Giselle (2 f ex Ballet Society by Stravinsky) put in the perfect prep for the Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) in two weeks' time with a brave victory in the Reisling Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) at Randwick on Saturday, becoming I Am Invincible's (Invincible Spirit) 52nd stakes winner in the process.

A winner of the lucrative Golden Gift (1100m) in November, Dame Giselle was last seen finishing third in the Lonhro Plate (Listed, 1000m), but she was able to put that performance behind her to narrowly beat See You Soon (Siyouni) in a photo-finish with the official distance a nose.

"We were going to be outside the leader or take a trail and it was going to pan out alright for the first 200 metres," co-trainer Peter Snowden said.

"Then everything just pulled up in our faces and planted Kerrin three-deep. He had no other option than to stay there and just cuddle her up.

"She did plenty of work but was still good enough to put her head out and win."

"If there is a template to getting to the Golden Slipper, that's it. It gives you more time to take your horses as easy as you can getting them in there and that's been the case with her."

Purchased by Go Bloodstock for $500,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Treen and Royston Murphy's Sledmere Stud, the filly is out of Group 2 winner Ballet Society (Stravinsky), making her a three-quarter-sister to Listed winner Steal My Kisses.

Ballet Society herself is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Cent Home (Lord Ballina) and Group 2 winner Studebaker (Lord Ballina).

Ballet Society produced a colt Coolmore first-season sire Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry) last season and has most recently been covered by the Yarraman Park Stud-based I Am Invincible again.

When the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly lines up in the Group 1 at Rosehill on March 21 she will be looking to become I Am Invincible's first Golden Slipper winner.

Meanwhile, Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice) colt Farnan backed up his last start win in the Silver Slipper Stakes (Gr 2, 1100m) with an easy victory in the Todman Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) earlier on the card, which meant he shot to head of the betting for the Slipper at Rosehill in two weeks' time.
