Thermosphere (2 f ex Glows by Canny Lad) emulated her stablemate Kiamichi (Sidestep) in winning the Magic Night Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday and in the process become the first stakes winner for Darley's first-season sire Exosphere (Lonhro).

Kiamichi won the Group Three en route to her famous victory in the Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) and trainer James Cummings has not ruled out sending Thermosphere to the Group 1 at Rosehill next Saturday following her quarter length win over Time Is Precious (Snitzel).

"I think we will enjoy the win before we get too carried away deciding that because we've still got time up our sleeve," Cummings said.

"Kiamichi won on a rain-affected seven days out last year and that proved to be vital on a day that was completely bottomless.

"That was a good day for Godolphin and hopefully it will be a good day next week.

"We will do the right thing by her. If she's absolutely bouncing and ready to have a crack then we will do the sporting thing by her and give her a chance."

It was the Godolphin youngster's second win after breaking her maiden at Newcastle last start and is the only winner for Exosphere.

"She fell out of the gates last start to win at Newcastle and she had a little bit of form around the winner of the Pago Pago (Prague)," Cummings said.

"This is a classy filly and she's got the right credentials, she's got an excellent temperament."

Bred by Godolphin Thermosphere is out of Listed-winning mare Glows (Canny Lad). Meanwhile the pedigree also features Group 3 winner Falaise (Grand Lodge) and Listed winner Pearly Kings (Quest For Fame).

In 2018 Glows produced a brother to Thermosphere, while in 2019 she produced a three-quarter-brother by Coolmore sire Pierro (Lonhro) and she has most recently been covered by Exosphere again last October.

Exosphere, who shuttled to Haras du Logis in France in 2016, stood at Kelvinside in New South Wales in 2019 and covered a book of 86 mares at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).

Turangga Farm will offer a colt by the Exosphere at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which begins its two-day run on April 7.
