Not A Single Doubt's (Redoute's Choice) stellar season continued on Saturday as his son Doubtland (2 c ex Miss Sharapova by Ustinov) demolished his rivals in the Kindergarten Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m) at Randwick handing the stallion his 71st stakes winner.

Having taken out his first start with ease last month, the colt sliced through the field on Saturday and pulled away to eventually beat Jerle (Exceed And Excel) by an impressive four lengths, with Not An Option - who is also by Not A Single Doubt - finishing another half a length away in third.

"That was a lovely win," co-trainer Michael Hawkes said.

"We just get these colts right at the right time.

"To be fair, Brenton didn't panic. He just had to wait and the option was there to go on the fence or peel him out. When he got out wide he had a lapful of horse and it was all over for mine."

Hawkes is confident the colt will prove to be a force to be reckoned with next season: "He's just going to be a force to be reckoned with as a three-year-old," Hawkes said. "That's why we kept him back and we didn't really want to rush him into the bigger races such as the Sires'.

"He's a Group winner now, he's worth a lot of money and he can go and have a break and he'll come back as a lovely, lovely three-year-old."

Purchased by Orbis Bloodstock for $1.1 million at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Doubtland is out of four time-winning Ustinov (Seeking The Gold) mare Miss Sharapova making the colt a brother to Listed winner Pretty Fast, while he also counts Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Villa Verde as his three-quarter brother.

Further back the colt is from the family of Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m)-winning pair Rory's Jester (Crown Jester) and Ha Ha (Danehill) and Group 3 winner Sushi Rocket (Salmon Leap).

The colt is bred on the same cross as Group 2 winner Quackerjack.

Doubtland's Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) half-sister was catalogued at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, but was withdrawn last week when Arrowfield Stud decided to sell their draft privately.

Miss Sharapova has a weanling colt by Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) and was covered by Dundeel (High Chaparral) last November.

Not A Single Doubt was retired from the covering shed by Arrowfield Stud earlier this year and Doubtland's victory comes after Farnan took out the Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) two weeks' ago, while his daughter Shout The Bar continued his excellent form last weekend when she took out the Vinery Stud Stakes (registered as Storm Queen Stakes) (Gr 1, 2000m).
