The Anthony Freedman-trained juvenile colt Show Some Decorum (Starspangledbanner) impressed on debut at Sale on Tuesday scoring a two and a half length victory in a maiden over 1006 metres.

Taken to the front by Joe McNeil after jumping from the outside barrier in the seven-horse field, Show Some Decorum raced on the rails. He was asked to quicken on straightening and did so well to pull away and score an easy victory in a time of 59.82 seconds. The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Marchena (Deep Field) finished second.

Show Some Decorum was a $40,000 purchase by Blue Sky Bloodstock and his trainer from the draft at Princes Park at last year's 2019 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.

By the Rosemont Stud-based Starspangledbanner (Choisir), Show Some Decorum is the first foal out of the unplaced No Love Letters (Roderic O'Connor) who is a half-sister to the French Listed winner Piracicaba (Dansili) being out of Montaria (Dashing Blade). The colt's third dam is Listed winner Mosella (Surumu), the dam of six winners headed by the late German champion sire Monsun (Konigsstuhl).

No Love Letters was bought for 6,500gns by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock at the 2016 Tattersalls July Sale. After producing Show Some Decorum, No Love Letters slipped to Fiorente (Monsun). She has a weanling by Territories (Invincible Spirit) and then was covered last September by Mendelssohn (Scat Daddy). The win provided Anthony Freedman with his third two-year-old winner in three days with Soul Obsession (I Am Invincible) and Charm School (Redoute's Choice) scoring on Sunday and Monday respectively.
