Former Coolmore Stud shuttler No Nay Never (Scat Daddy) sired his first Australian winner on Wednesday when the Richard Litt-trained Cordyceps Miracle (2 c ex Zagalia by Zabeel) saluted the judge on his fourth career start in the Rex Hotel Maiden Handicap (1300m) at Canberra.

Having finished sixth on this previous start at Hawkesbury, the colt had no problems on Wednesday, finishing with a flourish to beat Our Cheeky Money (Nicconi) by half a length.

Purchased for $350,000 at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale from the Coolmore Stud draft, the colt is out of 2003 Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Zagalia (Zabeel) making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner Dawnie Perfect (Big Brown) and a further five winners.

In 2019 Zagalia produced a sister to Cordyceps Miracle and was served by fellow Coolmore stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill) last December.

No Nay Never's global winners count stands at 77, which includes 14 stakes winners, headed by Group 1 winner Ten Sovereigns and also includes New Zealand Group 3 winning juvenile Need I Say More.

The son of Scat Daddy (Machivellian) shuttled to Jerry's Plains for four seasons, but was not included on their roster for 2020.
