Eureka Stud’s four-strong roster remains unchanged for the 2020 breeding season, with their headline stallion Spirit Of Boom (Sequalo) standing once again for $44,000 (inc GST).

The stallion has sired 77 winners this season, firing at a rate of 57.6 per cent. Spirit Of Boom has sired four stakes winners this season; Outback Barbie, Sugar Boom, Frangipani Moon and Ef Troop.

Having started his career off a $11,000 (inc GST) service fee, his first crop of yearlings off a $55,000 (inc GST) fee will be hitting the sales ring next year and the stud’s nominations manager Harry McApline said there was a lot to look forward to with the stallion going forward.

“Sending a mare to Spirit Of Boom in this coming season represents a great opportunity to breed with tremendous upside from having covered nearly 400 mares in his last two stud seasons at fees of $55,000 and $44,000, and with over 160 of these mares being stakes performers and/or producers,” said McAlpine. “The first crop from these quality mares will appear at the yearling sales next year and will be hitting the track soon after.

Meanwhile, Spirit Of Boom’s barnmate Encryption (Lonhro) will stand his second season at the Queensland-based stud for an unchanged fee of $13,200 (inc GST). The Group 2-winning son of Lonhro (Octagonal), who is out of a three-quarter sister to this year’s Newmarket Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Bivouac, covered 134 mares in his first season.

Eureka’s roster is completed by Defcon (Choisir) and Red Dazzler (Red Ransom), who will both stand for unchanged fees of $4,400 (inc GST) respectively.
