Three-year-old filly scores in Centaurea Stakes.
The late breed-shaping stallion Redoute's Choice (Danehill) was provided with his 173rd stakes winner on Saturday when his daughter Oasis Girl (3 f ex Siwa by Green Desert) landed the Centaurea Stakes (Listed, 2030m) at Morphettville.
The filly came into the race off the back of a fine victory over 1600 metres at Caulfield on May 9 and she backed up that performance by surging clear to beat Nerve Not Verve (Shocking) by a neck, while La Belle Jude (War Chant) finished another length and a half way in third.
Out of Siwa (Green Desert), Oasis Girl is a half-sister Listed winner Siwa Lady (Gonski) and stakes-placed Diamond Oasis (Lonhro).
Siwa herself is out of Listed winner Criquette (Shirley Heights) - who also produced Group 2 winner Flying Cloud (Storming Home) and Listed scorer Captain Webb (Storming Home), while Criquette is also the grandam of Group 2 winner Knight's Tour (Reset) and Listed-winning Lady Meydan (American Post) and Agathonia (Street Cry).
The filly also shares a page with Group 1 winner Laverlock (Octagonal) and multiple elite level scorer Pierro (Lonho), who now stands at Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley.
In 2017 Siwa produced a colt by Redoute's Choice's son Not A Single Doubt - who was purchased by Astute Bloodstock for $185,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in 2019 - he is now named Turin Warrior and has raced once.
In 2018 the mare foaled a filly by Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) and missed to Redoute's Choice the following season. The mare was covered by Merchant Navy (Fastnet Rock) in November.
