Filly provides Night Of Thunder with seventh winner.
Former Darley shuttler Night Of Thunder (Dubawi) sired his seventh winner - from just 11 runners in Australia - when his daughter Winning Weather (2 f ex Lemon Soju by Sebring) landed the Bridges Event Centre 2YO Handicap (1000m) at Murray Bridge on Saturday.
Having her second starts, the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas-trained two-year-old filly ran down the favourite All Banter (I'm All The Talk) by a length with Sabaku (Written Tycoon) a further three lengths back in third.
"She was bred by a mate of mine from Hong Kong who syndicated her to a few mates," McDonald told racing.com. "She has always shown good pace. I thought her first up run at Balaklava was really good.
"I saw the favourite today barrier trial and I thought she might have too much pace for us but I was pretty confident she would beat the rest.
"She has just kept improving. Jason was pushing her along a bit early, but she just kept grinding away and I think she will go a bit further."
The filly is out of winning Sebring (More Than Ready) mare Lemon Soju, who is herself a half-sister to Listed-placed It Will Do (Kenvain).
Further back this is family of Group 1 winner Palace Reign (Beau Sovereign), Group 2 winner Brechin Castle (Colours Flying) and Listed-winning pair Palace Guest (What A Guest) and Labu Labu (Island Mom).
Night Of Thunder stood at Darley in Australia in 2016 and he covered 96 mares. His Australian-bred crop are headed by Group 3 winner A Beautiful Night and Listed winner River Night whilst in Europe he has sired 33 winners headed by eight stakes winners including Group 2 winner Night Colours from 56 runners.
