Two-year-old filly Agreeable (Sebring) sored an impressive debut victory over 1140 metres at Geelong on Friday for trainer Anthony Freedman.

Eased back to detached last three wide with a trail, she travelled well approaching the home turn She then started to make ground and with still plenty to do at the top of the straight she closed strongly to draw away to score with plenty left in reserve. A most taking debut victory for a talented filly and is one for the Blackbook.

The daughter of Sebring (More Than Ready) was a $125,000 purchase from the draft of Blue Gum Farm by Dean Hawthorne for owner Jonathan Munz at last year’s Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and she is the second foal of Gibson Carmichael Stakes (Listed, 1600m) winner Affable (Husson). Further back she hails from the family of Blue Gum Farm-based stallion Turffontein (Johannesburg).

Three-year-old Master Montaro (Toronado) kept his unbeaten record intact with a three length victory over the older horses at Geelong on Friday in a good time of 1:06.73 in the 1140 metre contest.

The odds on favourite Master Montaro settled down in third last position some ten lengths from the leader Mastering (Smart Missile) who ran along in front. Commencing a three and four wide run prior at the 600 metres, before taking the home turn on the outside, he closed strongly taking the lead within the final 100 metres to draw away to an easy three length victory. He galloped out strongly and appeared suited to a step up in distance.

Master Montaro was purchased as a yearling for $80,000 from the Swettenham Stud draft at the 2018 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale by Woburn Farm before being sold at the NZB Ready To Run Sale later in 2018 for NZ$300,000.

Owned by prominent Hong Kong-based owner M B Lee, Master Monaro is a half-brother to stakes-placed Modoc (Haradasun) and is out of a winning half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Prized Icon (More Than Ready).
