Coolmore Stud-based stallion So You Think (High Chaparral) unearthed a talented juvenile - his third of the season - as the John McArdle-trained So Let's Toast (2 c ex Slainte by Not A Single Doubt) landed the Max Blakiston Maiden 2YO Plate (1105m) at Sale on Wednesday.

On debut, the two-year-old stayed on strongly to the line to beat Ain't She Cute (No Nay Never) by a long neck with another length and a quarter back to Limpet (Real Impact) in third.

"We were very confident ability wise, but he's just very raw as you saw the way he was pre-race, he got himself into a bit of a mess, although calmed down when he went with the pony," said stable representative Brady McArdle.

"He did everything right in the race, although when the pressure came on, he started to wander a bit but ability got him over the line.

"We think he's a nice horse with spring potential, but we'll let him guide us and see how he pulls up. He might have one more run and then we'll tip him out."

A $135,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling purchase by Slade Bloodstock from the Willow Park Stud, So Let's Toast is out of the four-time winner Slainte (Not A Single Doubt).

Slainte herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Bigelow (Al Maher), while further back this is the Listed winner Captiva (Sir Tristram).

So You Think has sired nine stakes winners and over 100 winners in the southern hemisphere this season, headed by Australian Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Quick Thinker and he will stand the 2020 season for a fee of $38,500 (inc GST).
