Patty's Fortune (2 f ex Kalseru by Octagonal) produced an impressive display to win the Village Kitchen Ascot Maiden 2YO Plate (1050m) at Doomben on Wednesday and in the process handed Woodside Park Stud-based first-season sire Rich Enuff (Written Tycoon) his fifth winner.

Trained by Les Ross, the two-year-old filly surged clear to beat Winter Rain (Rubick) by three and three quarter lengths, while Chief Mondo (Headwater) finished another half a length further back in third.

The filly was purchased by Mishani Enterprises for $120,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale and she is out of the placed Octagonal (Zabeel) mare Kalseru, who has produced one other winner.

Kalseru herself is out of Listed winner Catriona (Bellotto), making her a half-sister Caniona (Canny Lad), who in turn produced Listed winner She Can Skate (Bradbury's Luck) - the dam of Jyoti (Akeed Mofeed).

Further back this is the family of Group 3 winner Graceful Anna (Canny Lad).

Patty's Fortune joins Hamilton Hill, Sassy Enuff, Riched and Plutocrat, who was also placed at Group 2 level. The stallion will stand at stud for a fee of $8,800 (inc GST).
