Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry), who looks sure to be crowned Australia's champion first-season sire by prize-money earnings, sired a double on Wednesday taking his number of first-crop winners to 11.

The first leg of the double was provided by the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Mystique Falcon (2 f ex Mystique by Montjeu) who landed the Ladbrokes Back Yourself 2YO Handicap (1300m) at Sandown-Hillside.

The filly finished eighth when on debut over 1200 metres at Sale late last month and she fought back when briefly headed by Derive (Redoute's Choice), eventually beating her by a nose with another three quarters of a length back to Toyz On Fire (Fighting Sun) in third.

"Last start she was slow into gear and just got lost after that," Maher told Racing.com.

"From the wide gate (11) I said to Jye (McNeil) today to be positive early and get her into the race. There didn't look to be a lot of speed and given we were racing over a further trip.

"She had been out to Sandown for a few gallops and she was very good.

"She is a raw commodity at the moment. She got headed and picked up when the other horse (Derive) got competitive beside her.

"The stable has always had a high opinion of this filly and it was great to get a win for Laurence Eales and his team.

"I would say she will stay a trip. She is a big, scopey filly, and I think she has got a bright future."

Maher and Eales Racing went to NZ$220,000 to secure Mystique Falcon out of Inglewood Stud's 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 draft and she is out of Listed-placed Montjeu (Sadler's Wells) mare Mystique, making her a half-sister to 2016 Southland Guineas (Listed, 1600m) winner Replique (Darci Brahma) and three other winners.

The filly's second dam is New Zealand Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Seamist (Beaufort Sea) - who in turn produced Group 3 winner Torlesse (Volksraad), while further back this is the family Group 2 winner Aotea Lad (Savabeel).

Mystique is currently in foal to Coolmore Stud stallion Merchant Navy (Fastnet Rock).

Later on in the afternoon, Kahaylaan (2 c ex Magic Nera by Lonhro) brought up first-crop winner number 11 as the colt landed the Terrace Function Centre Maiden 2YO Plate (1100m) at Gawler.

The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained two-year-old colt showed his class on his second start on Wednesday when he beat Sabaku (Written Tycoon) by three and a quarter lengths.

Purchased by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum - who raced Pride Of Dubai - for $300,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Kahaylaan is out of the unraced Lonhro (Octagonal) mare Magic Nera, who is herself a half-sister Listed winner Fellers (Quest For Fame).

Fellers herself produced Listed winners Tromso (Lonhro) and Kamacite (Northern Meteor).

In 2019 Magic Nera produced a colt by the now pensioned Arrowfield Stud stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice).

Pride Of Dubai's first-crop is headed by Listed winner Tanker and he will stand at Coolmore for a fee of $38,500 (inc GST) in 2020.
