Sahra (2 f Hinchinbrook - Desert End by End Sweep) and Peralta (3 g Pierro - Quasera by Flying Spur) - who both have weanling siblings catalogued at upcoming sales - broke their maidens at Kembla Grange on Thursday.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Sahra landed the Jack Primmer Electronics Maiden 2YO Plate (1000m), the first race on the card, beating Free State (Headwater) by three and a quarter lengths with another four lengths back to Divine Breath (Scissor Kick) in third.

The two-year-old filly is out of Listed-placed End Sweep (Forty Niner) mare Desert End - the dam of Grade 3 winner Margham (Encosta De Lago), who in turn produced Listed scorer Mohave (Exceed And Excel), winner of the 2013 Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (Listed, 1000m).

Desert End herself is a half-sister to Royal Med (Medieval Man) - the dam of Group 2 winner Millennium (Prized).

Fairhill Farm will offer the filly’s Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry) half-sister at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale, which gets underway at Riverside Stables on July 8. The filly is catalogued as Lot 184

Desert End has most recently been covered by former Coolmore Stud shuttler Mendelssohn (Scat Daddy).

Two races later, the Clare Cunningham-trained Peralta (3 g ex Quasera by Flying Spur) broke his maiden at the 12th time of asking when he won the Metro & Prov Maiden Plate (1500m).

The juvenile prevailed in a close finish to beat Doctor Mancini (Wandjina) by a nose, while there was another half a length back to Big Data (Dalghar) in third.

The gelding is out Quasera (Flying Spur), whose Dundeel (High Chaparral) is catalogued as Lot 907 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast National Weanling Sale as part of the Misty Downs Draft.

Quasera herself is a half-sister to dual Group 2 winner Hurried Choice (Choisir).

Further back Peralta’s third dam is Group 1 winner Lurestina (Sir Tristram) - the dam of Listed scorer Miss Bussell (Danzero), who in turn produced Adrian Knox Stakes (Gr 3, 2000m) winner Miss Darcey (Hussonet).

Quasera has most recently been covered by former Coolmore Stud shuttler No Nay Never (Scat Daddy).
